The Prince County Fiddlers were created in 1977 as a chapter of the P.E.I. Fiddlers Society, an organization formed to preserve and promote fiddle music on Prince Edward Island. Music from the Scottish, Irish, and Acadian traditions is performed at various concerts, festivals, and social events throughout the year. The fiddlers perform for seniors on a regular basis at nursing homes and manors in Prince and Queens County.

The primary function of the Society is to preserve the music by encouraging future generations to take up the fiddle, and exposing the music to as wide an audience as possible.

The current membership of the Prince County Fiddlers consists of several fiddlers, guitar players, and a piano player. A typical performance will consist of group fiddling, solo fiddling, vocals, and step dancing (if dancers are available).
