Practice Schedule:

Practices at the Benevolent Irish Society upper room at 7:30 pm. Vince Keoghan’s slow jams will start  at 6:30 pm. Please bring a toony to help cover the cost of the hall rental.

Summer Report: 11 of us travelled over to Cape Breton on August 18th and had a fantastic weekend full of tunes, fellowship, laughs, and meeting new and making new friends from all over the world. There were people from Ireland, Scotland, Ottawa, and California. Workshops were held on Saturday afternoon with most of QCF attending the Intermediate session with Dara. The Juanita’s jig set on Sunday was so fun to be a part of and there were over 150 fiddlers onstage for the performance.

Next practices Oct. 10 and 17th, play out at Beach Grove Oct. 24th at 6 pm.

The Queens County Fiddlers were created as a chapter of the P.E.I. Fiddlers Society, an organization formed to preserve and promote fiddle music on Prince Edward Island. Music from the Scottish, Irish, and Acadian traditions is performed at various concerts, festivals, and social events throughout the year. The fiddlers perform for seniors on a regular basis at nursing homes and manors in Prince and Queens County.

The primary function of the Society is to preserve the music by encouraging future generations to take up the fiddle, and exposing the music to as wide an audience as possible.
