Ukrainian National Anthem

The Ukrainian National Anthem originated in the 1860’s with lyrics by Pavlo Chubynsky and music by the Greek Catholic clergyman, Mykhalio Verbytsky. When the Soviet Republic took over Ukraine in 1922, this anthem was banned. In 1992, after the independence of Ukraine was declared, the anthem was adopted again with minimal changes.

There are many versions of the anthem on youtube. Two of my favorites are “Ukraine is not yet lost” – Old Johnny (guitar version) and “National Anthem Ukraine Violin Cover Olha Rukavishnikova Violinist Fighter.”
